We are delighted that you may be joining us at the White Water Inn. We hope the following Frequently Asked Questions may assist you on your visit to our lovely Moonstone Beach.

  • What time is check-in and check-out?
Check-in time is 3:00 pm. Our office is open until 9:00 pm each evening. If you will require a late check-in (after 8 pm), please call us by 7:00 pm so that we can determine your requests for the complimentary Continental Breakfast you will receive in the morning and make arrangements for you to have access to your room when you arrive after the office is closed. Check-out time is 11:00 am. Early Check-in or Late Check-out are impossible to determine in advance because we rarely know in advance when another guests departure or arrival times may be, plus the additional time necessary required for our immaculate housekeeping.

  • Can I change payment method when I arrive?
We will require a valid Credit Card to reserve your room. You may choose to change to an alternate Credit Card or pay by Cash upon arrival. In order to avoid a Credit Card "Hold" that could restrict the resources of your Card while you may be traveling, we will process your complete reservations stay charges upon arrival. Ancillary items or purchases will be processed separately upon checkout. We are pleased to accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express.

  • Are there any other additional costs or fees?
The standard room rate is based upon double occupancy. There is an additional $15 charge for each adult over the standard two persons per room (no additional charge for children or youth under 18). There is an 12% Occupancy tax required by San Luis Obispo County that is not reflected in your room rate. This will be reflected in your confirmation letter or email. There are no additional "resort fees" or parking fees. We just don't think that's fair. Therefore, Parking, Continental Breakfast each morning, Wireless Internet, Blue Ray/DVD Movies and accompanying Popcorn are all FREE!
  • What is your cancellation policy?
Should your travel plans change, please call us to cancel or reschedule your reservation as soon as possible, a $50 cancellation fee may apply. In the unlikely event that you must cancel or shorten your stay within Three (3) days* of your arrival date, (*30 days on the Mini-Suite or holiday weeks), please understand that you may be responsible for your entire reservation. If we successfully resell your room(s), we will happily apply a full or partial credit or refund to you. We are not in business to charge guests for rooms they cannot use, but in many instances we have turned other guests away in favor of your advanced reservation. The sooner you can let us know of any cancellations or revisions to your reservation; the more likely we are to resell the room. So, please inform us as soon as you become aware of any necessary changes and we promise to do our best.

  • What is included with the continental breakfast?
We are pleased to provide a Continental Breakfast delivered to your cottage room each morning. Enjoy breakfast in bed with a selection of fresh baked breads; muffins, fresh fruit, juice and your choice of fresh coffee, decaf, hot chocolate or choose from a variety of hot tea selections. Gluten free items may be available with advance notice but not guaranteed.

  • What is your pet policy?
Several rooms are designated as "Pet Friendly," others have never experienced a wet nose. While we love pets, we understand that some guests have allergies or other reasons not to stay in a room that may have been visited by a furry family member, regardless of the sanitation efforts we use to rehabilitate a room after a pet stay. That is why we require advance notice of a pet stay, and also why we require a $40 fee per pet room stay(not per day); additional effort and resources are necessary to insure the room is clean and allergen free for the next guest. Here is a link to our pet policy where you will also find resources for pet sitting, pet friendly restaurants, wineries and beaches.

  • Can I reserve local attraction or event tickets with you?
Because of the variety of times and options associated with visits to Hearst Castle, Winery Tours, Kayaking, Horseback Riding and so many other events we do not wish to lock you into a time or date that could compromise your fluctuating travel schedule. We are pleased to recommend a wide variety of activities, attractions and events, but recommend you utilize the variety of links provided on the site to ensure the tickets or commitments made are consistent with your availability, rather than our whim. Restaurant reservations are recommended, particularly on weekends, summer months and holidays, and we will be pleased to make reservations for you on the date and time you specify, just ask!
  • Do you sell gift certificates?
White Water Inn Gift Certificates are a great way to say Thank You or Congratulations! Certificates are available in any denomination, room package or special and are customized with your personal message. Anniversary ♦ Honeymoon ♦ Birthday ♦ Retirement or just because! A Gift Certificate stay at the White Water Inn makes any occasion special and will always be remembered.

  • Do you provide any Roll-Away beds or cribs?
The White Water Inn is family friendly. Exploring the tide pools, attractions and events are a great way for a family grow closer while visiting our charming Village. However, guest rooms with a King Bed are best suited for no more than two persons, and rooms with Two Queen Beds up to four persons. We do not provide Roll-Away beds or cribs.

  • What is your "Best Rate Guarantee"?
White Water Inn is a small family owned Bed & Breakfast Inn, limited to only 17 charming rooms. Keeping our occupancy high helps us to keep your prices low, lower than many of our competitors. We endeavor to reserve as many of our rooms as possible so we can pass the savings on to you. We promote the Inn through a variety of media and On-Line Travel Partners, but many of our regular guests prefer to reserve with us direct. Sometimes they have a connection to a particular room or a preferred view that can only be assured by a direct contact to our Guest Services staff. We love AAA, AARP, Military and our returning guests! When you reserve a room with us directly, either from the White Water Inn web site reservations link or by telephone, you can rest assured that you are receiving the lowest rate for the date and room(s) you request.  In the rare instance you discover a lower rate on the same date, room configuration and location-we will always match the lower rate.
